About Kate

I am an approachable Psychologist who has experience supporting individuals and families to move forward from a place of being stuck. Supporting clients to build their own capacity to make changes that are beneficial for themselves. I believe that life is about balance and striving for and achieving that where possible is a good place to start on a journey of positive mental health.

I am a warm, dedicated and collaborative clinician with extensive experience and passion for working with clients across the lifespan (in particular, adolescents, adults and families). My belief for therapy is to support individuals to grow, and to recognise the impacts that this can have on their own mental health and the wellbeing of those closest to them. I work holistically and creatively using evidence-based approaches and strategies to assist clients in gaining a better understanding of themselves, their difficulties and to support them to develop effective ways of managing and responding to these.

Psychologist's Office

Counselling

I have worked with many different types of issues including:

  • anxiety

  • mood problems

  • life transitions

  • workplace and study stress

  • relationship and communication difficulties

  • sleeping problems

  • self-esteem issues

  • burnout

I primarily work within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frameworks.

I also use elements of brain/body based strategies to encourage rebalance and have experience across numerous frameworks when supporting clients.

I firmly believe that my role is to walk alongside the clients that I meet and to work together on the development of effective strategies as a team.

Kate Dunmore Psychology applies evidence-based, holistic therapy to overcome the burden of feeling 'stuck', leading to more fulfilling relationships and the resolution of psychological trauma.
