Victoria Kean is an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and trainer, who is passionate about supporting individuals and families to develop the insight, knowledge and skills to resolve challenges, both past and present. Victoria aims to maintain curiosity, honesty, humility and compassion in her work, to provide a safe, collaborative and supportive space.
Victoria has over 18 years’ experience, including, as a Trauma Specialist Counsellor and trainer, and in counselling adolescents, adults, parents and families with a range of issues. Victoria has a Master’s Degree of Social Health & Counselling and is an accredited parenting educator (Circle of Security and Triple P Parenting Programs).
Victoria provides individualised support for a range of issues, including relationship difficulties, stress, self-esteem, mental health problems, grief and loss, and addictions. Our approach is person-centred and integrative, drawing from a number of approaches, including EMDR, Solution-Focused, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, DBT, CBT, trauma and attachment focused frameworks.
Many parents find themselves having to manage challenging behaviours from their children, from tantrums and oppositional behaviours, to drug use, self-harm and violence. Trying to manage those behaviours can be difficult, isolating, and cause an increase in family conflict. There is a solution, believe it or not. We can help to support you through this challenging time and guide you to strengthen the relationship with your child and take back control of parenting.
Trauma & PTSD
After a traumatic experience, people can struggle with symptoms that significantly impact their relationships, work, social life and sense of well-being. Anxiety, fear and hopelessness are just a few emotions that can linger after traumatic experiences, as well as relating differently to others and yourself. You may also experience alterations in reality, memory and time. We can help you resolve these symptoms and guide you through the process of healing.
